Republican Senate candidate Jim Reubens issued a statement following the release of April's employment report by the Bureau of Labor Statistics:
This unemployment number conceals the horrible state of the job market. Unemployment rate fell 0.4% in April because one million people have simply given up looking for work. When these unemployed people are counted in the U-6 numbers, the real unemployment rate is 12.3%. The labor force participation rate remains mired since 2010 ata 35-year low. These numbers are an indictment of the failed big-government policies of President Obama and his rubber-stamp Jeanne Shaheen.
Republican Congressional candidate Gary Lambert responded to the creation of a US House committee to investigate the Benghazi attack.
On September 11th, 2012, four brave Americans – Ambassador Christopher Stephens, Sean Smith, Glen Doherty, and Tyrone Woods – gave their lives in service to their country. Since that tragic day, the Obama administration has engaged in a deliberate effort to cover-up the truth. They have lied and withheld information from Congress throughout the course of the Benghazi investigation. Therefore, I fully support Speaker Boehner’s action to form a House Select Committee to investigate the Benghazi attack. The American people – and more importantly the families and loved ones of the brave men who died that day – deserve the truth.
