I have a love/hate relationship with the conservative blog Granite Grok. The love is for the great public service their bloggers do shooting video of conservative speeches and short interviews of activists and then posting them online. Just listening to someone is tremendously more revealing in a thousand subtle ways than reading a second hand summation of what they said. When I started this blog I intended to pass along a great deal more of these interviews, but my ambition to transcribe them into text has been slowing that down. I'm very verbally oriented, and I get aggravated spending the time actually watching video of someone when I could read a transcript in a quarter of the time.
But transcription is just a time investment I can't make right now, so I'm going to start posting links to video. I highly recommend watching them. Below are the brief remarks of Republican gubernatorial candidates Walter Havenstein and Andrew Hemingway at the state GOP convention a couple months ago.
