Senator Kelly Ayotte yesterday joined Senators Graham, McCain and Chambliss to cheer on the House Armed Services Committee decision to rescue the Airforce's A-10 planes from being mothballed.
The House Armed Services Committee's overwhelming bipartisan passage of an amendment to prohibit the retirement of the A-10 next fiscal year is a significant interim victory for our ground troops. We applaud committee members for honoring our commitment to provide our troops the best possible close air support so they can accomplish their missions and return home safely. We look forward to addressing this issue in the Senate Armed Services Committee and working with members of both parties and both chambers to ensure the A-10 can continue to protect our ground forces.

Frank Guinta announced that it he has now been endorsed by over 250 office holders in New Hampshire:
I am honored to receive the support of these distinguished leaders from New Hampshire. This is a clear sign our message is resonating all over the District, and that our Campaign will be very well equipped to take on Congresswoman Shea-Porter this fall. Our solutions based Campaign will continue to work hard to reach every person interested in seeing real change this November.

Former Congressman Guinta also criticized Congresswoman Carol Shea-Porter for her joke that liberal campaigns should encourage Republicans to stay home on voting day:
We now know why Carol Shea-Porter refuses to hold town halls or any open meetings with the public, she has zero interest in hearing from anyone who disagrees with her, and we have now heard she will actively work to suppress their vote this fall. This failure of representation should come as no surprise to anyone who has watched her six years in Washington following Nancy Pelosi and Barak Obama blindly, while the Middle Class shrinks and ObamCare wreaks havoc on our Health Care system. When will Congresswoman Shea-Porter put Granite Staters ahead of her own political career?

NH House Republican Leader Gene Chandler has endorsed Scott Brown in the Republican Senate Primary:
NH House Republican Leader Gene Chandler has endorsed Scott Brown in the Republican Senate Primary:
“Scott Brown is a conservative leader who will fight for New Hampshire to restore the economy, pass a balanced budget amendment to the Constitution and focus on getting the government off our backs. New Hampshire is proud of our individual freedoms, and it’s about time we elected someone who will represent our principles. Our communities do not want a rubberstamp who votes with President Obama 99% of the time; we want an independent voice who will repeal Obamacare, lower taxes, and restore America’s greatness,” said Rep. Chandler.
“I’m honored that Gene has joined our grassroots team to fight for New Hampshire and get our country back on track. Gene has fought tirelessly for the North Country to make sure his constituents are well represented in the State House. I appreciate his support and dedication to restore conservative principles in New Hampshire,” said Scott Brown.

Republican Senate Candidate Jim Reubens continued to criticize Jeanne Shaheen's oversight of veteran's healthcare programs:
Republican Senate Candidate Jim Reubens continued to criticize Jeanne Shaheen's oversight of veteran's healthcare programs:
New Hampshire residents are fed up to the gills with career politicians like Jeanne Shaheen who issue press releases to deflect attention from their failure to get results. The Senate has been aware of veterans’ disability claims appeals backlogs for years and falsified healthcare wait lists for two years but, despite large increases in funding, these problems remain unresolved. While statements of concern and calls for resignations get headlines, they are not substitutes for leadership and for action.
It turns my stomach to think about government officials profiting while veterans have died waiting for care. This problem was made known to the Senate in April of 2012 and nothing was done about it. New Hampshire needs a new Senator who will force action on issues as critical as veterans care.

As a member of the House Veteran's Affairs Committee, Representative Kuster yesterday released the following statement concerning the committee's decision to investigate the Department of Veteran's Affairs knowledge of misconduct at Phoenix, AZ medical center:
Our veterans have made great sacrifices to serve and protect our nation, and we must ensure they can access the health services they need when they return home. I’m shocked and appalled at allegations that long wait times at the Phoenix, Arizona VA Health Clinic may have contributed to up to 40 veteran deaths, and I’m equally dismayed at accusations that the clinic attempted to destroy evidence of these wait times. Today, I voted to subpoena documents from the Secretary of the Department of Veteran Affairs, Eric Shinseki, addressing the alleged destruction of the Phoenix VA’s interim waitlist. I am hopeful this will provide further oversight and ensure that the Office of Inspector General’s (OIG) investigation into this matter is not tampered with. I call on Secretary Shinseki and those responsible in Phoenix to immediately respond to these grave allegations.

Republican Senate Candidate Karen Testerman yesterday called for a warm welcome to twelve New Hampshire citizens returning from their time at the standoff at the Bundy Ranch:
This week 12 New Hampshire patriots arrived home from Nevada. I want to insure that they are welcomed back as patriots, free men, who chose to help a fellow American keep his freedom and livelihood.
These men committed no crime, broke no laws, caused no damage to property or person, yet the Senate Majority Leader, Harry Reid, labeled them "Domestic Terrorists." I have called for his apology for making such an defamatory and offensive comment, and will be in Washington on he 15th urging him to do so in person.
I am asking once more that our sitting Senators, and particularly, Jeanne Shaheen, who is part of Reid's caucus, deliver a public, unconditional statement, denouncing Mr. Reid's remarks. I expect her to issue a personal "welcome home" to each of these men and women, some of whom are prior military.
Unless we as a people begin to cry our distain for such blatant arrogance and abuse of public office, this sort of abuse will only get worse. Please join me in this cause. Come to our rally in DC on May 15th.

Republican Congressional Candidate Gary Lambert had the following remarks on the release of the National Climate Assessment:
Republican Congressional Candidate Gary Lambert had the following remarks on the release of the National Climate Assessment:
While President Obama spends time promoting his job-killing energy policies, American families and businesses are suffering. Speeches and interviews don’t help lower a middle-class family’s energy bill at the end of each month, they don’t help them overcome the high cost of gas prices when trying to plan a family vacation this summer; and they don't help businesses create jobs and grow. If President Obama were serious about an all-of the-above national energy plan, he would approve the Keystone XL pipeline, he would end his war on coal-fired energy plants, and he would stop the EPA’s quest for a national cap and trade program.
